"VERSES": An Animated Contest Between Bible Versions

Updated: Jul 10

On Vanguard, I try to give what I have to help support my fellow believers, but I also want to make every effort to support other believers who are trying to do the same. I have a few posts up that provide links to other great Bible study resources, and the Vanguard Youtube channel has several excellent resources as well. If you haven't seen those posts yet, here are the links so that you can check them out! But also be sure to stick around to the end of this post, where I have a link to a new animated resource called "Verses."

Resources for Bible Study

This provides a core selection of books and resources that can supercharge your understanding of Scripture, and your ability to study it well one-on-one with the Lord. View the list (with links) at this post.

Seven Wonders of the Wonderful Word by Harry Rimmer

Rimmer, a Christian author from a bygone era, wrote this short book to enumerate all the reasons why God's word is unlike any other book in history. See a summary and download the free PDF of the book at this post.

Why the KJV?

Vanguard exclusively uses the KJV, which is increasingly uncommon these days. View the reasons why I have chosen to to this, along with several resources and links for further study at this page.

Music Matters: Recommended Listening

Music is an awfully important part of Scripture, and of our day-to-day Christian lives, which is why we need to have biblical guidelines to evaluate our options for listening (and singing). This is a full series, but you can view the list (with links) of some recommended listening at this post.

"The Ministry: Don't Let Your Defeats Defeat You" by Greg Estep

Although I never got to meet him in person, I would say Estep has been one of my mentors. He founded the Bible institute where I earned my master's in theology, and through the recordings of his sermons and Bible classes he has been a great blessing to me. Listen to a brief excerpt from one of his Bible classes at this post.

"Get It Done" by Bob Miletello

Militello is a great preacher. He has a great balance of hard-knocks preaching, practical insights, and encouragement to do more for the Lord. View a video of one of his short sermons at this post.

Evangelize with Youtube

Pastor Jesse Martinez is one of the most gospel-centric preachers you will find. If you attend one of the services at his church, you will hear the gospel at least twice, and he has a great method for learning how to share the gospel easily with others (based on Ray Stanford's method). As a younger man, Pastor Martinez is also keenly aware of the "internet culture" and wants to leverage it to provide additional ways to share the gospel with people, so he created a sort of interactive "Youtube Video Tract" that can be easily shared via email, text, or social media. View the video at this post.

Vanguard's Youtube Channel

Get the link to Vanguard's channel, where I have several recommend channels with excellent Bible content at this post. You can also click on the little Youtube icon at the top and bottom of the Vanguard webpage.

So those are the resources already on Vanguard. There are links to more resources found throughout the other posts, but the ones listed above are dedicated exclusively to providing resources. But today I have a new one for you that I absolutely love. The Youtube channel KJV Pictures (which I also have linked on the Vanguard Youtube page) is produced by a Bible believer whom God has given an incredible talent for animation. Most of his videos are traditional animation, however he has a new one where he uses 3D animation to create a video that looks like an episode of The Muppets. Not only is it very well done, but it is a creative and entertaining exploration of the Bible translations issue, with this episode putting the KJV in a good ol' fashioned western duel against the NKJV version. The video is built-in below, but be sure to check out the other videos on KJV Pictures too!
