The Bible Versus Evolution
We have been exploring a few of the reasons why the Bible is trustworthy. Last time we established that science supports the Bible – not the other way around! This post needs to explore that topic a bit further by addressing one of the most pervasive lies peddled by so-called “science” (in contrast with true science that explores God’s design). That topic is, of course, evolution.
Let’s begin with a few questions pertaining to the claims of evolutionary theory.
Have you ever seen anything biological in this life naturally and progressively improve until it becomes something new? Has it even been implied?
Evolution tries to say “yes.”
Have you ever seen anything in this life - people, nations, philosophies, etc - that does not eventually degrade?
Evolution tries to say “yes.”
Have there been an overwhelming number of fossils that show the progressive steps of evolution?
There should be hundreds of thousands of them…right?
Have you ever found a single valid reason not to believe what the Bible says?
The Bible claims that things are created after their kind (Genesis 1), and that sin will cause things to get worse and worse until Jesus returns (2 Timothy 3:13). Is that true to your honest experience in this world? If it is, then the Bible is right, and evolution is wrong!
It isn’t difficult to see why evolution is a farce. Why do so many people embrace it, then? Evolutionists embrace a lie because:
They do not want to acknowledge their own sin
When it is unavoidable, they do not want to accept responsibility for their own sin
They want to be self-made, self-righteous, self-saved, humanistic people (pride - see Isaiah 14:12-17)
They do not want to recognize their need for God
They do not want to humbly submit to God’s authority
So, in sum, evolution tries to tell us that biological life progressively improves until it becomes something new, that things do not eventually degrade, and that we should not be concerned that there aren’t thousands of fossils that show the progressive steps of evolution. This theory gives lost people yet another way to deceive themselves and sidestep the truth of the Bible. In contrast to evolution, the Bible says things are created after their kind (Genesis 1) and that things will get worse and worse until Jesus returns (II Timothy 3:13). Salvation does not come from waiting to become something better naturally – it comes from looking unto Jesus Christ!
