Ephesians 4:7

7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Verses 4-6 establish what is common and equally distributed to all believers. Verse seven begins with a contrasting conjunction, however. Here we are dealing with what is distributed to us in individual measures. What is distributed? Grace. In what measure? The gift of Christ. What does that mean? Beats me. This gift of Christ could be the spiritual gifts for service given to us at salvation, and the grace given could be the means to exercise those gifts. Verse eight would seem to support this idea, along with Romans 12:6 and I Corinthians 12:1-11.
